Edify & Unify Together In Prayer

My house shall be called the house of prayer.
Matthew 21:13
The prayer ministry is dedicated to fostering a powerful connection with Jesus Christ through the transformative practice of prayer. We firmly believe that prayer is a mighty force, and our passionate team is committed to equipping all willing individuals with the tools to pray effectively.

Our ministry serves as a catalyst, encouraging both the church congregation and the broader Baton Rouge community to engage in fervent prayer. We diligently lift up our community, members, leaders, our Pastor, and anyone who desires prayer support before the Lord.

Our unwavering mission is to empower and inspire people to unlock the power of prayer, drawing them closer to the heart of Christ. We stand ready to uplift petitions, intercede on behalf of others, and cultivate an environment where prayer becomes a way of life, transforming individuals and impacting our city for the glory of God.

Through our united prayers, we seek to be a conduit of God's grace, strength, and guidance, touching lives and witnessing the miraculous work that unfolds when we humbly approach the throne of grace.

ACTS Prayer Model

The ACTS model provides a framework for structuring prayer, covering various essential elements. Each letter represents a key component:

  • Adoration
  • Confession
  • Thanksgiving
  • Supplication

By incorporating adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication, the ACTS model guides us through worship, repentance, gratitude, and petition - creating a holistic, Biblical approach to prayer.

Adoration

Adoration refers to worshipping and exalting God, expressing our love and admiration for Him. Begin by praising and exalting God, expressing your admiration and devotion to Him. This could involve singing hymns, reciting psalms, or declaring His attributes and glory.

Confession

To confess means to agree with God about our sins - the thoughts, words, and actions that have displeased Him. Honestly acknowledge your sins and shortcomings before God. Agree with Him that you have fallen short and ask for His forgiveness, which restores your fellowship (1 John 1:9).

Thanksgiving

While adoration focuses on who God is, thanksgiving focuses on thanking Him for what He has done - His blessings, provisions, salvation, etc. Express gratitude to God for His love, salvation, protection, provision, and all the blessings He has bestowed upon you. While adoration focuses on who God is, thanksgiving centers on what He has done.

Supplication

Supplication refers to making requests and petitions to God, both for our own needs and the needs of others. Make requests and petitions known to God, both for your own needs and those of others. Supplicate for mercy, guidance, wisdom (James 1:5), and intercede diligently for fellow believers (Ephesians 6:18).
