Children and Youth Director

The Children and Youth Director will manage the Master Teachers and Teachers. The CY Director will oversee the educational efforts of the Children and Youth Ministry. Additionally, the CY Director will ensure the roles are being performed adequately and report deficiencies and inefficiencies to the President.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be knowledgeable and in agreement with the vision, goals, mission and objectives of the children and youth ministry
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Must have good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have good working knowledge of church policies and procedures
  • Must be able to positively interact and lead a group of other ministry leaders
  • Previous experience in children and youth ministry or Christian education is a plus but not required

Anticipated Time Commitments

  1. Doing Ministry/preparing for ministry: A minimum of four hours a week
  2. Actively engaged in children’s church: Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evening and other events as required
  3. Participating in meetings/training: One to three hours a month – attending meetings and conference calls

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist the President in weekly routines
  • Assist President in making and achieving monthly, quarterly and yearly goals
  • Manage Children and Youth Directors (Preschool, Elementary, Middle and High) and Children and Youth Data Base
  • Assist Master Teachers and Teachers in making and achieving monthly, quarterly and yearly goals
  • Provide immediate feedback to President
  • Oversee flow of children and Youth from beginning to end of Children’s Church, Bible Study and other activities
  • Create and implement approved recognitions and incentives for entire staff
  • Create recognitions and incentives for High School Youth
  • Support children and youth staff members
  • Recruit workers for the ministry (teachers and assistants)
  • Collect and study data for monthly scorecard and make recommendations for improvements
